Kangaroo Grass

The plant was used by the Kaurna People as a source of food, and to make carry bags, fishing nets and baskets.
It was found primarily on Adelaide Plains and parts of the coast.
It can grow up to 1.5m tall and 1m across, and flower during December to February.
It gives food for grazing animals such as kangaroos, and is a hiding place for small animals.
