Native Lilac

Kaurna People used the Native Lilac as a sweet drink.

Purple flowers with yellow centres emerge in late winter.

It was never common in areas but now seems to occur as a scattered plant.

Long seed pods that ripen in spring explode when dry. They also attract butterflies.
