Silver Banksia

 

  • The Kaurna people used the plant flower as a sieve for dirty water. Its flower was also soaked for its nectar which was a sweet drink.

  • It is mostly found in coastal regions, near sand dunes and in the Adelaide hills.

  • It is a large tree with silvery leaves and the flowers look like fluffy yellow cones which hold the seeds.
